The story follows Hiraku-Kun, a young, detached filmmaker who documents everything through his camera. Along with a rotating cast of companions—Akari, Ren, Kenji, Haki-san, Sanjo-Kun, and later Aya—he becomes trapped in a surreal, shifting labyrinth that begins as a decaying leisure centre and evolves into a metaphysical bureaucracy of middle‑class dread.

The narrative blends horror, satire, metaphysics, and absurdist comedy, using each environment as an allegory for different forms of anxiety, class pressure, and existential debt.
